Minimum Qualifications:
  • MLS degree.
  • In-depth knowledge of children’s services.
  • Experience in library programming.
  • Thorough knowledge of electronic library resources.
  • Minimum five years of professional library experience.
  • With a minimum of two years as head of a children’s department.
Responsibilities:
  • Manages staff of 14 (8 FTE, 4 FT) in providing children’s services and coordinating programs and activities for the entire library.
  • Reports to the library director and participates as a member of the management team.
  • Supervises provision of children’s reference, reader’s advisory and early literacy services.
  • Coordinates library meeting room reservations, display case reservations and library art displays.

Job Title:Reference Services Associate, Grade 10
Rate of Pay:Starting wage $15.38 per hour
Immediate Supervisor:Co-Managers of Reference Services
Available Hours:10 hours per week (combination of evening and daytime hours and average of one weekend per month.)

Minimum Qualifications:
  • LTA certificate or associate’s certificate, or B.S./B.A. from accredited college.
  • Excellent adult and youth reference and public service skills.
  • Knowledge of various electronic information resources, including the internet.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to function positively and effectively as a team member.
Responsibilities:
  • Staff the adult reference desk and provide reference and reader’s advisory services to library customers of all ages.
  • Teach public to use internet and WNPL print and electronic resources
  • Other duties as assigned.

Rate of Pay:$8.33 an Hour
Immediate Supervisor:Page Supervisor
Available Hours:One Position of 9 Hours per Week; Thursdays from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m; Fridays from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Two (2) Saturdays from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. (Audiovisual shelving) and an occasional Sunday

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalency.
  • Must be able to work in team environment.
  • Well developed oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Requires a full range of body motion and ability to move a wheeled book cart with up to 100 lbs of books or other library materials.
  • Must be able to maintain an exemplary public service attitude.
Responsibilities:
  • Feeds and sorts returned materials to conveyor/sorter system.
  • Straighten book shelves and restocks materials on displays.
  • Sort materials in numerical and alphabetical order.
  • Work with conveyor/sorter system for returned library items.
